Joy, companionship and well-being for older adults through dance

Why I do what I do
I've always loved dancing. As a child if I wasn't eating or sleeping I was dancing, going to classes, performing and moving to music anywhere I could!  After a career in community engagement, I've returned to my first passion. My mission is to encourage people to keep enjoying music and dancing in later life. I run open sessions, offer one to one home visits and partner with organisations for one-off or regular sessions face to face and online. My practice includes collaborative choreography work leading towards performances often in unusual places! I enjoy developing my skills and am part of Matthew Bourne's New Adventures Overture programme for Community Dance Professionals  https://www.new-adventures.net/news/overture-cohort-for-2025-2026-announced.
How I work
Sessions are run on a collaborative basis, with everyone contributing to the moves and the music choice. All the dancing is designed to be accessible, so everyone can enjoy moving, either seated or standing, depending on their range of movement.
I run open sessions, which anyone can attend, and accept commissions from organisations. My clients include Age UK, Beyond Dementia, ReMind UK, Alive Activities and the National Trust, along with care homes and local community groups.

I am a member of People Dancing, fully insured for public liability and DBS checked.
